President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, met today in Munich, Germany, with the US Vice President Mr. Joseph Biden.
President Jahjaga, expressing her pleasure about the meeting, said that she wants to thank the Vice President and the USA in relation to the help that they have provided and are providing to the consolidation of the Kosovar state and society. We are eternally grateful that, by providing this help, you have made it possible for us to live in freedom, and that at this moment we appreciate the support you are giving to us on our journey towards our membership in European Union.
Republic of Kosovo has achieved considerable progress on this journey and is demonstrating its good will towards the normalisation of relations with the Republic of Serbia. We are dedicated to this process and are deeply determined not to pass on the animosities of the past to the younger generations as a burden for them. President Jahjaga emphasized that she has expressed her readiness to, as a President of the Republic of Kosovo, meet with the President of the Republic of Serbia, in order to provide a further support to the dialogue between the two governments, which will lead to the full normalisation of relations between the two independent and sovereign states.
US Vice President Biden, expressed the full support of the US towards the European agenda of the Republic of Kosovo as well as the dialogue process that Kosovo is currently holding with Serbia towards the normalisation of relations between the two countries, and stated that the meeting between the Presidents Jahjaga and Nikolić is a contribution to the dialogue.
Vice President Biden also stated that USA will be strongly supporting the Republic of Kosovo in all its democratic processes. Mr. Biden also expressed the support towards the strengthening of the state of Kosovo and that independence is a done thing and that its sovereignty and territorial integrity are guaranteed.
