The selection commission for taking into consideration, evaluating and interviewing of the potential candidates, composed of representatives of relevant institutions, experts and members of civil society, established with the decision of President of the Republic of Kosovo, has completed the process of interviewing the candidates for Auditor General.
Out of eleven (11) candidates who fulfilled the criteria specified in the vacancy announcement for the Auditor General, the Professional Commission has selected three (3) candidates who have been proposed to the President of the Republic of Kosovo. President Jahjaga, within a few days, based on her constitutional and legal powers as well as on the recommendation of the Professional Commission, will propose to the Kosovo Assembly the candidate for Auditor General.
In the opened vacancy announcement for Auditor General initially 25 candidates have applied, out of which 11 fulfilled all the criteria required by the vacancy announcement. The Professional Commission, throughout the process, has also taken into consideration the complaints filed by a number of applicants and has decided in accordance with the criteria defined and in accordance with the law.
The professional commission, created with the decision of President Jahjaga, was composed of a professor of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Prishtina, the representative of the Central Bank of Kosovo, the representative of the Administration of the Assembly of Kosovo, the representative of the Administration of the Office of the President, the representative of the civil society and two observers: the representatives of the Union of the Office of the Auditor General and the Office of the EU in Kosovo.
The vacancy announcement for Auditor General was opened with the aim of providing the opportunities to all the interested parties who fulfill the requirements and conditions, based on the law and harmonized with the recommendations of the EU Office in Kosovo and with all the parties involved, and the entire candidate selection process was transparent and open.
