Prishtina, February 17, 2017 – The President of the country, Hashim Thaçi, continues to receive congratulations from his counterparts on Independence Day.
Letters of congratulations for this day have been sent by the President of Albania, the President of Estonia and the President of Panama.
The President of the Republic of Albania, Bujar Nishani, in his letter of congratulation has ensured that Albania, based on the European and Euro-Atlantic spirit and vision, will always be on the side of Kosovo on its road of development and will support it unreservedly in preserving the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Honorable Mr. President, on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kosovo, I have the particular pleasure that, on behalf of the Albanian people to convey the most cordial and fraternal wishes, to you and all the citizens of Kosovo. I take this opportunity to also greet all the achievements so far of the Republic of Kosovo and its people for the construction of the independent state and functional of Kosovo, as well as the important contribution given for peace, security and development in the region. I am convinced that thanks to this progress, but also the significant support of the most important organizations of the partners, Kosovo will very soon become an active member of the most important international organizations and will advance along the other countries of the region, on its European agenda”, it is said in the letter of President Nishani.
President Nishani stated that the interstate relations between Albania and Kosovo are very special and of fundamental importance, both for the future of the Albanian nation as well as for the stability and progress of the region.
“Therefore I also assure you that Albania, based on the European and Euro-Atlantic spirit and vision, will always be on the side of Kosovo on its road of development and will support it unreservedly in preserving the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. With the best and fraternal wishes for this special day, please accept, Mr. President, the assurances of my highest consideration”, the congratulatory letter of President Nishani sent to President Thaçi is concluded.
The President of the Republic of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, in her congratulatory letter to President Thaçi wrote that she is certain that the good relations and cooperation between the two countries will continue to intensify in the future.
“Please allow me to extend to you and to the people of Kosovo my best wishes and congratulations on the happy occassion of the National Day of the Republic of Kosovo. I am certain that the good relations and cooperation between our countries will continue to intensify in the future. Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration as well as my best wishes for the welfare and prosperity of the Republic of Kosovo and its people”, it is said in the letter of President Kaljulaid sent to President Thaçi.
The President of the Republic of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez, has congratulated President Thaçi by expressing his commitment to work towards the consolidation of friendly relations and the cooperation between the two countries.
“Mr. President, on the occasion of the celebration of the ninth anniversary of the declaration of independence of Kosovo, on behalf of my people and government I convey with pleasure the warmest congratulations to the people of Kosovo. I convey, Your Excellency, my commitment to work towards the consolidation of friendly relations and cooperation, which fortunately exist between our countries. Accept, Mr. President, my deep respect and the assurances of my highest and special consideration”, wrote President Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez in his message of congratulations sent to President Thaçi.
Earlier, President Thaçi has received congratulatory letter also by other heads of state and leaders from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro, Belgium, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates and San Marino.
