The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu said that today we mark December 2nd, the birthday of the first, historic President of Kosovo Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, the man who led his people to freedom and the country to its independence.
“President Rugova was the ideator and the first leader of the independent state of Kosovo”, wrote President Osmani.

Today we mark December 2nd, the birthday of the first, historic President of Kosovo Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, the man who led his people to freedom and the country to its independence. President Rugova was the ideator and the first leader of the independent state of Kosovo. With unparalleled wisdom and knowledge, he managed to politically articulate the will of the citizens of Kosovo to live freely on their land and within their own state.
His leadership is an example and a model that we must bear in mind and embody each and every day in order to make President Rugova's vision for the state even more meaningful, by bringing it to life more and more each day.
