The National Council for the Survivors of Sexual Violence during the War, founded and headed by the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, held the next meeting of the working group on economic empowerment of the survivors of sexual violence during the war.
Participants in this meeting were the members of the National Council for the Survivors of Sexual Violence during the War from governmental institutions and non-governmental women organizations, as well as representatives of international organizations, diplomatic missions in Kosovo and financial institutions.
At this meeting there was discussed about the possibility of providing mitigating measures, of support and inclusion of this sensitive category of our society in the schemes, programs and instruments offered by the institutions which in their mandate have the empowerment of the economic sector. Of particular importance was considered the need to continue the development of the intersectoral collaborative and coordinating plan between the public institutions, international organizations and non-governmental organizations
The economic empowerment of this category of civilian victims of war was considered essential, part of the reparation process to guarantee rehabilitation, reintegration and resocialization of the survivors of sexual violence during the war.
In accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Kosovo, the National Council for the Survivors of Sexual Violence during the war aims the coordination of work and activities of institutions and agencies, within the competencies and their scope to rehabilitate the Survivors of Sexual Violence during the War.
