THE MESSAGE ADDRESSED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO DR. JAKUP KRASNIQI TO THE PEOPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO ON THE ENDING OF 2010

The independent, sovereign and democratic state of Kosovo is a work of yours and a crowning to the century-long sacrifices made by its selfless generations. Building on these victories, in 2010, the people and institutions of Kosovo helped our country make headway in improving the welfare and towards accomplishing its historic objectives of joining the big family of the United Nations and Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Dear citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,

We are nearing the end of a year that was important for Kosovo. In the international arena, 2010 sealed Kosovo’s legitimate right to being an independent and sovereign state. During this year, Kosovo proceeded with its institutional reforms, marked a tangible economic and social development and build a complete legal and physical infrastructure. This year marked the commencement of the works in the National Vërmicë-Merdarë Highway, which shall serve as another important international artery. In the year that we are leaving behind, Kosovo brought her positioning in the regional and its international identity in general to a new and a higher level. We have achieved many results, which were indeed fruits of efforts made by the people and institutions of our country and partnership with our many friends, so we have a reason to be proud, to celebrate and to exchange congratulations on this switching between years.

Dear citizens,

The independent, sovereign and democratic state of Kosovo is a work of yours and a crowning to the century-long sacrifices made by its selfless generations. Building on these victories, in 2010, the people and institutions of Kosovo helped our country make headway in improving the welfare and towards accomplishing its historic objectives of joining the big family of the United Nations and Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Dear citizens,

Kosovo has many projects to implement and challenges to meet in 2011. We shall keep on working earnestly to make sure that 2010 brings to Kosovo its representative and executive institutions, established by the will of its voters, that we consolidate a democratic system, that we provide for rule of law and that we better the living of our people. I rest completely confident of the will and the energy of our country, of our homeland-loving spirit and of our knowledge and positive potential to move forward towards new and unstoppable successes, which are well-earned by you, by our beautiful children and by the Republic of Kosovo.

Dear citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,

On this traditional holiday, I wish all the people of Kosovo in our country and abroad, regardless of nationality, language or religion, all the people living in villages and towns, men and women, elderly and young, intellectuals, students and pupils, teachers, state administration, police officers and soldiers, medical staff and social workers, families of martyrs, National Movement’s veterans, Liberation War invalids, families receiving social assistance, people with disabilities and pensioners, Happy New Year 2011! I wish this year will bring you success, health, jobs and wealth to each and every family in Kosovo. Our best wishes go to the entire international presence in Kosovo, to KFOR soldiers and officers, to EULEX, with whom we are sharing our joint successes and achievements, to the representatives of the European Union, to diplomatic representatives, to the UN agencies, to many donors and supporters, to the foreign investors, and so on.

Dear citizens,

I wish the dining tables of each family in Kosovo will be richer, that our faces will more smiling and that our trust in rising above any challenge will remain unwavering, not only during feasts, but on every day of the 2011 and thereon, throughout our bright and safe future!

Cheers!
