The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, on the occasion of the Day of Eid al-Adha, has congratulated the President of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, Mufti Naim Tërnava and all the Muslim believers.
In the felicitation it is written:
When we are approaching the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, one of the central pillars of the Islamic religion, I congratulate all the Muslim believers and all the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo for Eid al-Adha, this feast of understanding and harmony in the family and with friends and the reaching out of the hand of solidarity between people.
This feast of Eid al-Adha, of the reflection of the relationships that every individual has with God, let it serve as an opportunity to also reflect on our work and commitment, for the obligations we have to one another, the family, to friends and the society and for the help we give to each person.
On this day of faith in God, a day of understanding, reverence and respect for each other, to continue the cultivation of our traditions based on the principles of our society to respect and care for each other, reaching out the hand of kindness and above all the cultivation of harmony and overcoming differences in our society, built on the values of ethnic, cultural and religious diversity.
Today, with special respect, let us remember all of them who were committed and have sacrificed for our present, who set the framework of our state and democracy, which obliges us to build a better future, an integral part of free people and with respect for all those friends who stood by us, at any time and in every situation.
Let this feast find us united, determined and committed, to handle all the challenges we face on our journey towards the secure Euro-Atlantic future.
Happy Eid al-Adha!
