The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga and Prime Minister Mr. Isa Mustafa express their deep concern and condemn any involvement of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo in incidents in the Republic of Macedonia which aim to destabilize Kosovo and the neighboring countries, by putting in flyer peace and security and endangering the lives and property of the citizens.
After today’s meeting, President Jahjaga and Prime Minister Mustafa call for transparent and credible investigation of the recent events expressing the readiness of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to continue to provide their full support to reveal these developments of the weekend in the city of Kumanovo. The justice and security mechanisms of Kosovo have requested from their Macedonian counterparts details regarding the incidents of the weekend and are awaiting an official response from them.
The Republic of Kosovo remains committed to a multi-ethnic, stable Macedonia, committed to equal rights for all communities and the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, strongly oriented towards the European and Euro-Atlantic path, with which it has good interstate relations.
President Jahjaga has continuously held meetings with Prime Minister Mustafa and the heads of the security mechanisms to discuss about these developments and to coordinate the institutional actions within Kosovo, including the undertaking of security measures.
The institutions of Kosovo express their regret to the families of the victims and the injured and call for full respect of the law and restraint from violence.
