Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo considers that the removal of the memorial monument is in contradiction with basic human rights and the European Charter on Local Self-Government.
Removal of the memorial monument does not express the will of the citizens of Presheva Valley, expressed through the institutions of the Municipality Assemblies, which are legal and legitimate institutions.
This act shows a lack of readiness to, through dialogue, find solutions, by means of this already proven democratic mechanism.
The Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo appeals for peace and calmness and for creation of the atmosphere of mutual trust, which will in turn return the dialogue as means towards finding of an acceptable solution.
