President: The Pokleku massacre, a memory that never fades, a wound that never heals without justice

The Pokleku massacre, a memory that never fades, a wound that cannot heal without justice.

Among the 54 killed in Poklek, 24 were children between the ages of six months and 17. They were brutally killed and then burned by the forces of the genocidal Serbian regime, whose goal was extermination. Among the victims was Liria, a baby of only 6 months old, who bore the name of an ideal that she had not lived yet. She never enjoyed freedom. But her name remains a duty for each of us. So do the names of the 23 killed in Old Çikatova.

Today, it is not enough to remember them. We have an obligation to seek justice. Not just for Liria, but for every child killed, for every family destroyed.

Justice is not revenge. It is the minimum promise we owe to the victims.

It is our responsibility to ensure that this crime does not fade into oblivion or silence.

Let us not stop until justice triumphs.

Because without it, without the truth being told and known, without accountability for the crimes, there is no lasting peace.
