The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today received the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Pristina, Ms. Anu Pratipatti.
The meeting discussed the latest political developments in the country, including the next steps towards the constitution of the new Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo and further institutional steps in accordance with the Constitution. The President informed Ms. Pratipatti about her letter to the Members of Parliament regarding the next steps for the establishment of new institutions, in order to ensure stability and democratic functionality of the state.
President Osmani stressed the importance of continuing close bilateral cooperation with the United States of America, as the most important strategic partner of the Republic of Kosovo. On this occasion, they also discussed the deepening of cooperation in the field of defence, which ultimately contributes to strengthening peace and stability in the region.
The meeting also discussed the two new recognitions, namely the recognition by Kenya and Sudan, which was welcomed as an important development towards further strengthening Kosovo’s international subjectivity.
President Osmani and Ms. Pratipatti reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening relations between Kosovo and the United States.
