Prishtina, August 31, 2016 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, today visited the border crossing in Jarinje of the northern part of Kosovo.
President Thaçi said that the created normality in northern Kosovo and the free movement of people and goods are the result of the dialogue in Brussels.
“I congratulate and felicitate all the policemen of Kosovo, all customs officers, who are working together, Albanians, Serbs and others, according to the laws of Kosovo and European standards. I am very pleased that I see a completely normal situation, a situation of communication, but also the flow of people. The cooperation, here, between the authorities of Kosovo and those of Serbia is extremely encouraging. I want to believe that this will be a good example for the future as well”, said President Thaçi.
During the visit to the border crossing in Jarinje, President Thaçi was accompanied by the Director of the Police, Shpend Maxhuni, and the Director of the Customs of Kosovo, Lulzim Rafuna, whom he congratulated for the commitment of their entire staff at this border check point of Kosovo with Serbia, as well as at the other border check points throughout the territory of Kosovo.
