Prishtina, November 30 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the President of the Association of Persons with Special Needs in Kosovo, Agim Vatovci, with whom he discussed about the work done by this organization and the challenges it is facing.
On the verge of the international day of persons with special abilities, President Thaçi said that it is the obligation of all of us to respect the Constitution and laws in force, which prohibit the discrimination of these groups in education, health, employment and other services.
“The rights of persons with special abilities should not remain only prescribed in our laws, but also be implemented strictly. It is the obligation of all of us”, said Thaçi.
On the other hand, Agim Vatovci, President of the Association of Persons with Special Needs in Kosovo, said that a greater commitment for a greater inclusion of this category in the labor market is needed.
He added that the applicable laws are not being implemented by many public institutions, where the employment of persons with special abilities is guaranteed.
In this case, President Thaçi urged all institutions, public companies, but also private ones to employ more people with special abilities, because the number of employees still remains low.
