Prishtina, January 1st, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has expressed his condolences to his Turkish homologue, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for the terrorist attack in Istanbul last night.
Through a telegram of condolences addressed to Turkish President Erdoğan, President Thaçi has said that this terrorist attack has hit all the citizens of the free world and the people of Kosovo show solidarity with the pain of the families of the victims and the Turkish people.
This is the telegram of President Thaçi addressed to President Erdoğan:
Honourable President Erdoğan,
The terrorist act in Istanbul is another additional motive in our determination to fight without compromise this threat to all of us.
The cruel attack on New Year’s Eve in Istanbul is an attack against the whole world.
This terrorist attack has hit all the citizens of the free world.
The terrorists do not want peace nor order, nor tranquility, but they want to destroy our world, our lives and our way of living.
The people of Kosovo show solidarity with the pain of the victims’ families and all the citizens of your country.
