Prishtina, October 20th 2020 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, has proclaimed the date of the early elections for the post of Mayor in the Municipalities of Podujevë and North Mitrovica.
Early elections in these two municipalities in accordance with President Thaçi’s decision will be held on November 29th 2020.
President Thaçi has instructed the Central Election Commission to take all necessary actions for the organization and holding of elections in the Municipalities of Podujevë and of North Mitrovica in accordance with the decision and the laws in force.
President Thaçi’s decisions emphasize that the organization and holding of the elections for Mayor of Podujevë and for the Mayor of North Mitrovica must be done in coordination and cooperation with relevant institutions, in accordance with Law no. 07 / L-006 on Prevention and Combating the COVID-19 Pandemic in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
