New York, September 24 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has met with the President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, in the framework of the proceedings of the UN General Assembly in New York.
President Thaçi has expressed his gratitude that Costa Rica was among the first countries to recognize Kosovo as an independent state and supported Kosovo in every international forum.
“Kosovo’s independence has brought more peace in the Balkans and throughout Europe”, said President Thaçi.
Costa Rica has successful environmental protection policies, and the President requested to exchange experiences in this field.
President Quesada said that Costa Rica supports the commitment to lasting peace in the Balkans and Europe.
President Thaçi expressed his gratitude to Costa Rica’s consistent stance towards Kosovo, despite the pressure from Serbia.
