New York, September 22, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Nikos Kotzias.
The Head of State thanked Minister Kotzias for the support of Greece and the positive attitude towards Kosovo in the regional and Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
“Although not having the recognition of Greece, we positively value the current level of the political dialogue between the two states. We have expressed our readiness to maintain and deepen the achieved political cooperation by continuing the practice of meetings and high level political visits, which contribute to the positive performance of our neighborly relations and which foster cooperation and dialogue between the two countries”, said President Thaçi during the meeting.
He expressed his conviction that the recognition of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state by Greece would strengthen the stability and peace in the region and would promote the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo and the entire region
During the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Greece, Nikos Kotzias, President Thaçi stressed that Kosovo will soon open the Economic Affairs Office in Athens, which will be the catalyst for increasing economic cooperation between the two respective states.
