Halifax, Canada, November 18 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, was among the speakers at the first day panel of the Halifax International Security Conference in which there was discussed about the future of the international interventions and the international missions.
Speaking about Kosovo’s experience, President Thaçi said that the world can learn a lot from the successes but also from the failures of the international missions in Kosovo.
The first thing to be learned is the need to communicate with the local community, stated President Thaçi, adding that although the Kosovo citizens were occupied, it does not mean that they were un-emancipated.
President Thaçi said that today Kosovo has turned from a security consumer to a security exporter.
The key was the communication with all, the all-inclusiveness and affirmation of the will for peace and reconciliation, concluded President Thaçi.
