Prishtina, December 23, 2018 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, after the passing away of British diplomat Paddy Ashdown sent a telegram of condolences to his family and the British people.
In this telegram of condolences of President Thaçi, it is said: “With sorrow I received the news of the passing away of the friend of Kosovo, British diplomat, Paddy Ashdown”.
“He was the strongest voice of the NATO intervention to prevent ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. Ashdown was also an ardent supporter of Kosovo’s independence”, it was said further in this telegram.
“I am very honoured that in the last two decades I have worked closely with him for the freedom and independence of Kosovo. Condolences to the family, the British people”, it is written, among others, in the telegram of President Thaçi.
