Prishtina, April 1, 2020 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, commenced the consultations today with the political parties represented in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo on the steps to be taken to overcome the new political situation created after the vote of no confidence in the Government.
President Thaçi received today in separate meetings the Leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, at the same time the Prime Minister in resignation, Albin Kurti, the President of LDK, former Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, and the Leader of the PDK, the former Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Vesel.
President Thaçi has asked the political leaders what steps they see as a way out of the new political situation, but always considering the health emergency caused by the COVID-19 virus.
President Thaçi will continue consultations with other parliamentary parties tomorrow.
After completing the consultations with the political parties, the President of the Republic of Kosovo will undertake the steps in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, with the laws in force, taking into account the experience and relevant procedures so far, but also taking into account the expressed political will by the political parties.
