President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi participated in the opening ceremony of the “Prishtina 2016” International Fair, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Government of Kosovo.
President Thaçi said that the organization of this fair has already turned into a tradition and is growing year in terms of the number of participants, quality and the varied quality products. This promotional activity, according to President Thaçi, is a contribution of particular value for Kosovo’s trade exchange with the countries in the region and beyond.
The head of the state said that all should strongly support Kosovo’s integration into EU’s common market and also work to secure new markets for Kosovan products and services, and to expand and strengthen the existing markets.
President Thaçi said that among the 189 world countries included in the World Bank’s reports, Kosovo is ranked 66th in the “Doing Business” report, and 67th in the “Paying Taxes” report.
“We rank higher than the international, which shows that we managed to build a business climate conducive to a favorable business climate nad attractive and competitive fiscal policies.
Our country, President Thaçi said, needs foreign investment, but also offers countless opportunities for foreign entrepreneurs. “Earlier this month the Stabilization Association Agreement entered into force and its implementation commenced. This has not only opened way for Kosovo’s membership in the European Union, but has also given a push to country’s economic integration into the common European market”, President Thaçi said.
Among the participants at the “Prishtina 2016” International Fair were also the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, along with ministers of the cabinet.
This fair will be open until 23rd of April and over 100 local and foreign companies are promoting their products there.
