103 years ago, under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Türkiye began a new chapter. This day represents a defining moment in the history of the Turkish people and in their journey toward a modern state.
On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Turkish people and the institutions of the Republic of Türkiye. I wish you peace, prosperity, and continued progress!
For the Republic of Kosovo, Türkiye is a strategic partner and an important ally. We share an enduring friendship and common interests. Our relations are built upon mutual respect and a commitment to deepening cooperation across various fields.
Kosovo highly values the support provided by Türkiye during critical moments in our history. We are deeply grateful for Türkiye’s participation in the 1999 NATO intervention, its recognition of Kosovo’s independence, and its contribution toward securing further international recognition.
We appreciate this support and emphasize the importance of its continuation as Kosovo pursues membership in international organizations. An important dimension of our partnership is security and defense. Deepening cooperation with Türkiye to build Kosovo’s defense capabilities is of particular significance. Turkish support for the training and professionalization of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), as well as the development of its strategic capabilities, directly strengthens security.
Our goal is to further advance this cooperation, in line with Kosovo’s needs and our commitment to peace and security.
Türkiye’s support in the fields of education and healthcare has contributed to the development of these sectors in Kosovo. Expanding trade exchanges creates opportunities for partnership, jobs, and tangible benefits for our citizens.
The Turkish community in Kosovo and the Albanian diaspora in Türkiye serve as an irreplaceable bridge between our two countries. They enrich our nations and strengthen human, cultural, and economic ties. This friendship, built over generations, is an asset that we must preserve and continue to develop.
I am confident that Kosovo and Türkiye will expand their partnership across all areas of mutual interest, based on a foundation of mutual trust.
