The President of Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu is participating in the proceedings of the World Islamic Economic Forum, which is being held in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, and which is being attended by leaders and representatives of 62 other countries of the world.
Today, President Sejdiu met with Mr. Tun Musa Hitam, Chairman of the World Islamic Economic Forum, with whom he discussed ways of cooperation between Kosovo and member countries of the Forum.
“We appreciate your invitation and the opportunity that you have provided to us to address an important forum such as the WIEF”, President Sejdiu said when the meeting started, appreciating, likewise, the comprehensive support and assistance that many member countries of the Forum have provided to Kosovo.
President Sejdiu invited business representatives of these countries to invest in Kosovo, pointing out that Kosovo offers multiple legal conveniences and firm investment guaranties.
“Like the entire region, Kosovo may represent an attractive place for your powerful investors who may invest in various fields of economy and commerce,” President Sejdiu said.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) emphasized that investors from this part of the world, which has seen a steady economic growth, are not so familiar with opportunities that Kosovo offers to them and that, therefore, it is necessary to establish joint business relations as soon as possible, in order to identify concrete areas in which investors from Malaysia and other countries can invest in Kosovo.
Later on, the Chairman of the WIEF-it and his associates hosted a working lunch for President Sejdiu, during which they were updated on developments in Kosovo and opportunities that our country offers to foreign investors.
President Sejdiu will hold a keynote speech at solemn opening session of the Forum and will meet presidents and leaders of countries participating in the Forum. Tomorrow, President Sejdiu will have a separate meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mr. Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak.
