President Osmani was received in Iowa by Governor Kim Reynolds

At the invitation of the Governor of Iowa, President Osmani began her official visit to Iowa, United States of America.

President Osmani and the First Gentleman Mr. Prindon Sadriu were received with a ceremonial reception by Governor of Iowa, Kim Reynolds and her First Gentleman Mr. Kevin Reynolds. The President expressed gratitude to the Governor for the warm reception and for her visit to Kosovo in June of this year.

During the meeting, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo has no better ally and friend than the United States of America, with which, according to her, they share the same values of democracy, human rights and international cooperation.

President Osmani also highlighted the signing of the Iowa State Partnership Program some time ago as a crucial aspect of their strategic relations with the United States.

“This program plays a vital role in our ongoing military development and capacity building efforts, in line with our national security objectives and aspirations for NATO membership,” emphasized President Osmani.

Furthermore, President Osmani highlighted the need for substantial economic aid and development programs initiated by the United States to support Kosovo’s economic growth and stability.

During the meeting with Governor Reynolds, they discussed about further student exchanges, scholarships and academic collaborations between the universities of Kosovo and Iowa, including exchanges in faculties, joint research projects and initiatives to build capacities in education.

They also discussed the possibility of knowledge exchange, transfer of agricultural technology and cooperation in sustainable agricultural practices, where this cooperation aims to further improve economic relations with the state of Iowa. Minister of Agriculture Faton Peci is part of the President’s delegation to strengthen this cooperation.

President Osmani, among other things, informed the Governor about the latest developments in Kosovo, following the act of aggression committed by Serbia in the Republic of Kosovo on September 24.

According to President Osmani, Kosovo will continue to cooperate with its allies, while the perpetrators of the terrorist attack and the aggression against the Republic of Kosovo on September 24 must be brought to justice.
