The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani was received in a meeting by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel during her visit to Luxembourg.
Among the topics discussed at this meeting was the current political and security situation in Kosovo, specifically in the north of the country after the kidnapping of three Kosovo police officers by Serbia. Further, President Osmani said that Kosovo is committed to peace and stability and that it will overcome challenges with the partners and allies.
Referring to the recent developments in the north, President Osmani stressed that it is necessary to bring before justice the Serbia-backed criminal groups, which attacked the Kosovo Police, KFOR and EULEX members, journalists and citizens.
The President emphasized the need to increase the engagement of the European Union as a dialogue mediator towards the full implementation of the agreements reached this year in Brussels and Ohrid.
The President thanked Prime Minister Bettel for the development support provided to Kosovo, as well as the support provided for visa liberalisation. At the same time, President Osmani expressed confidence in the continuous support for Kosovo’s European path.
