The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani during the official visit in Ankara was received by the President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Mustafa Şentop.
Part of the delegation of President Osmani at the meeting with the President Şentop were Deputy Prime Minister Gërvalla, KSF Commander, Bashkim Jashari and the chairman of the Friendship group of the Assembly of Kosovo for Kosovo-Turkey, Enis Kervan.
At this meeting, the relations between the two countries were considered as good relations with continuous advancement. According to President Osmani, these relations are multidimensional and are strengthened by the cooperation with Turkey in many areas, considering this country as a partner in many processes. She highly praised the role that Turkey has played in the liberation, independence and state building process of Kosovo. President Osmani has requested that within the parliamentary diplomacy, Turkey to be the voice of Kosovo in international organizations in which this country is represented and to advance the process of Kosovo’s membership in these organizations.
“Accelerating our membership into NATO is necessary to guarantee peace and stability, not only in Kosovo, but in the Western Balkans in general”, stated President Osmani, emphasizing that parliamentary diplomacy can push forward Kosovo’s membership in organizations such as NATO and the Council of Europe.
Whereas, regarding the dialogue process with Serbia, President Osmani stressed that the dialogue should focus on mutual recognition and that Serbia has so far proved to be blocking in this process, by not implementing a series of signed agreements.
