President Osmani was received by the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev: Bulgaria offers support to Kosovo in facing the energy crisis

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has commenced her official visit to Bulgaria on an invitation from her counterpart Rumen Radev, where she was received with high state honours.

President Osmani assessed the bilateral relations between the two countries as excellent and emphasized that Kosovo can benefit a lot from Bulgaria's experience in the Euro-Atlantic integration process.

In this context, President Osmani asked for Bulgarian support in Kosovo's bid for membership in the Council of Europe, the Partnership for Peace followed by NATO as well as in other international organizations.

While speaking in relation to the developments in Kosovo, the region and beyond, President Osmani stated that the institutions of Kosovo are committed to peace, security and the rule of law throughout the territory of the Republic. She said that with the recent developments in the north of the country, Serbia is trying to destabilize Kosovo, using its illegal structures.

However, according to President Osmani, Kosovo continues to play a constructive role in the dialogue process with Serbia, which should be focused on mutual recognition.

In a part of the meeting, President Osmani spoke with her counterpart Radev about the energy crisis that Kosovo, the region and Europe are facing, committing to a joint response to the challenges in this sector.

Bulgaria has expressed its readiness to support Kosovo in facing the energy crisis with both sides agreeing to the finding of modalities for cooperation and support from a joint inter-ministerial group of the two countries.

President Osmani also emphasized at the meeting with her counterpart Radev that Kosovo has made progress in the field of rule of law and as a multi-ethnic society, which treats all communities in an affirmative manner.

Strengthening of cooperation in the fields of foreign policy, defense, security, education and healthcare as well as in other spheres of mutual interest was also discussed at the meeting of the two presidents.
