President Osmani visited the police officers serving in the northern municipalities and awarded the Presidential Medal to the police officials l

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, accompanied by the Minister of the Interior Xhelal Sveçla, visited the “Belvedere” camp in Mitrovica today, the police station in Jasenovik as well as the border point and the police base in Bërnjak.

During the visit to the border point in Bërnjak and to the police bases in Jasenovik and Bërnjak, she thanked the policemen stationed in the north of the country for their contribution to the security of all citizens without distinction, as well as for the protection of the country's sovereignty.

At the proposal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police of Kosovo, President Osmani in the presence of the acting Director General of the Kosovo Police Fehmi Hoti has awarded the Presidential Medal for Security to the Rapid Intervention Unit of the Kosovo Police and eight police officers from different units engaged in the north of the country, thanking them for their professionalism, honour, dedication and courage in the service of the homeland, in the function of protection of order, law and public safety.

Other specialized units as well as other police officials will be honoured on the 15th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence.

According to President Osmani, the honouring is in recognition of their unwavering commitment to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for all citizens of Kosovo, irrespective of ethnicity.

While wishing them a very happy 2023, President Osmani emphasized that the women and men of the Kosovo police are an example of dedication and devotion to the state. According to her, the effort for the rule of law should never stop and that it should be a daily goal in providing public security in the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
