The President of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani received today the credentials of the Ambassador of Colombia to Rome, Mrs. Gloria Isabel Ramirez Rios who will also serve as a non-resident ambassador to Kosovo.
At the meeting with her, President Osmani congratulated Ambassador Ramirez Rios on her tenure as her country's first ambassador to Kosovo. She reiterated the gratitude of the people and institutions of Kosovo for the continued support of Colombia given to our country and expressed her pleasure that good relations with this country are expanding day by day.
“Colombia is one of the first countries which has recognized Kosovo's independence and has been with us since in achievement of the goal of consolidation of Kosovo's statehood,” said President Osmani.
She asked Ambassador Ramirez Rios for her country's assistance in Kosovo's membership in international organizations, as a mechanism that will serve not only to strengthen Kosovo's international subjectivity but above all further improve the lives of its citizens.
“The country's membership in international organizations for us does not only mean strengthening statehood, but more security and more opportunities to protect the rights and freedoms of our citizens,” said President Osmani.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Colombia, Mrs. Gloria Isabel Ramirez Rios reiterated the readiness of her country to further deepen the cooperation between our two countries. She pointed that Colombia will continue to support Kosovo in all international initiatives.
President Osmani conveyed to Ambassador Ramirez Rios her wish to welcome the President of Colombia to Kosovo.
