President Osmani received the President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani received today the President of Slovenia,
Mr. Borut Pahor. They initially held a meeting during which they discussed issues of mutual interest and concluded with a joint press conference.

During the discussion with President Pahor, President Osmani
pointed out that Slovenia had sided with the Kosovo independence movement and
that Kosovo's independence has stabilized the region.

 
The head of state also discussed with President Pahor
Kosovo's membership in the EU and NATO, processes these during which Kosovo
needs Slovenia’s support.

“It is necessary that Slovenia assists Kosovo in the
process of document preparation for European integration, and for Slovenia, as
a member state of the EU and NATO, to also lobby for membership and rapid
integration of the Western Balkan countries,” said President Osmani.

 
Furthermore, President Osmani and her counterpart Pahor
discussed the visa liberalization process, with President Osmani stating that
Slovenia's support in this process is extremely important, particularly in
lobbying the hesitant countries.

 
President Pahor and President Osmani also discussed the
situation with Covid 19and she asked Slovenia for help in provision of
vaccines. The exchange of experiences for successful pandemic management was
also discussed.

 
Among other things discussed at the meeting between the
President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani and the President of Slovenia
Borut Pahor was the Brdo Process, on which President Osmani stressed the
importance of accepting of the truth as a precondition for lasting peace.

 
“Reconciliation and peace in the region – the
recognition of the truth and the acceptance of reality; mutual assistance and
encouragement in resolving of the outstanding issues, whether bilateral or
multilateral; the realization of the common interests of all countries in the
region to join the EU (and some even NATO); as well as the deepening of all
types of cooperation, first of all economic, as well as the consolidation of
neighborly relations as a foundation for peace and prosperity of all countries
and all peoples of the region “, said the President.

 
The dialogue with Serbia was also a topic of discussions
between the two presidents.
