The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg and at the same time Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade Xavier Bettel, with whom she discussed the current political and security situation in the country, the strengthening of bilateral relations and the promotion of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
At the meeting, President Osmani thanked Minister Bettel for Luxembourg’s continuous support of Kosovo and at the same time expressed the need for it to continue in support of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.
According to President Osmani, Kosovo continues to remain steadfast on its path towards European integration and has made significant progress on this issue in the field of democracy, rule of law and human rights.
Furthermore, President Osmani emphasized that progress in the European Reforms Agenda reflects a strong readiness for EU membership.
“Kosovo has taken important steps to meet EU criteria, by implementing reforms that promote regional stability and increase economic resilience,” emphasized President Osmani.
President Osmani congratulated Minister Bettel on the new premises of the Luxembourg embassy to Kosovo, which is being inaugurated tonight, expressing the belief that this creates preconditions for the intensification of relations between the two countries.
President Osmani and Minister Bettel also discussed the possibilities for the increase of bilateral cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.
