The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the credentials of the new Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves.
After welcoming the new British ambassador, President Osmani emphasized that the relations between the two countries are excellent and expressed her belief that the positive developments in bilateral relations between Kosovo and the United Kingdom will also continue during Ambassador Hargreaves tenure.
The latest political and security developments in the country, as well as the dialogue process with Serbia were also discussed at the meeting.
President Osmani emphasized that United Kingdom is a powerful ally, which has supported Kosovo throughout and in the face of all challenges.
“I express our deep gratitude for the continued support by the United Kingdom, in strengthening Kosovo’s international position. Recently, we were honoured by Prime Minister Cameron’s visit to Kosovo, who supported us and stipulated that the forces of the United Kingdom are here to protect Kosovo and its sovereignty,” stated President Osmani.
Both interlocutors discussed the further possibilities of cooperation in the empowerment of women and their economic independence, with President Osmani informing Ambassador Hargreaves on the second edition of the Women, Peace and Security Forum, which is expected to be held on April 15-16.
President Osmani also thanked the United Kingdom for the support so far and expressed the need for expansion of cooperation in various fields, including defense, trade, investments, education and other areas of mutual interest.
