The President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani received today at a meeting the Ambassador of Great Britain to Kosovo, Mr. Nicholas Abbott.
President Osmani thanked the British Ambassador for the support that Great Britain has given to Kosovo's institutions during 2021. She also welcomed the appointment of the British Special Envoy for the region as an expression of support to peace, security and the stability of the region in the face of the threats and dangers that the region faces. President Osmani exchanged views with Ambassador Abbott on the progress of the dialogue and the positive role that the UK can play in this regard.
President Osmani expressed readiness to intensify Kosovo's relations with Great Britain during the coming year in the field of trade exchanges and cooperation in security and defense issues.
Ambassador Abbott presented to President Osmani the UK's global initiative against sexual violence as a tool of war. In this regard, President Osmani has expressed the support of the Republic of Kosovo to be part of this initiative by becoming part of the Joint Declaration against sexual violence in conflict and the conference of supporting states that is expected to be held during 2022.
