President Vjosa Osmani received today at a meeting the Ambassador of Finland to the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Pija Stjernvall, who pointed out that expectations from the new institutions are high and confirmed Finland's readiness to support Kosovo on its journey ahead.

President Osmani thanked Ambassador Stjernvall for Finland's support so far, stating that relations between the two countries are excellent and that the new government is ready to work towards their further expansion.

Both parties also discussed vaccines and the need for support by all partners for Kosovo, in terms of the provision of vaccines for our citizens. President Osmani said that Kosovo's orientation is clear.

“Even in this pandemic challenge, the pro-Western orientation of the Republic of Kosovo has been unshakable, and such an approach should be appreciated and not punished,” said President Osmani.

The issues also discussed at the meeting were the dialogue process with Serbia, in which case President Osmani stressed that the provision of vaccines is a prerequisite in order for the institutions to be effectively engaged in any other process, inclusive of the dialogue process. According to her, the dialogue is about efficiency and achieving results that will ultimately affect the improvement of the lives of our citizens.

Both sides confirmed the readiness to expand the cooperation and regular communication in order better coordinate engagements in this regard.
