President Osmani received a delegation from the White House

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, received today a delegation from the White House, led by Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, Homeland Security Advisor and Special Assistant to President Biden.

The President reiterated Kosovo’s determination to support the democratic world at this critical time by imposing sanctions on Russia for their unprovoked war against Ukraine, and the readiness to receive Ukrainian refugees and to support Ukrainian journalists housed in Kosovo. The President stressed Kosovo’s clear commitment to join NATO’s Partnership for Peace program as a first step in full integration into the North Atlantic Alliance.

“We are proud of the intensification of our cooperation with the United States. Kosovo has been transformed from a peace importer to a peace exporter with your support and we are confident that we can build on these achievements together. As President Biden mentioned, over the past year Kosovo has consistently demonstrated leadership on the international stage. Today, Kosovo is a strong advocate for peace and security in the region and beyond, and we continue to be the most pro-American and pro-European country in the world. It is the determination of our people to further strengthen our political, military and economic relations”, stressed President Osmani.

The delegation of the White House reaffirmed the United States’ support for Kosovo and our partnership in a variety of fields, including the housing of the Afghan refugees and participation in joint international peacekeeping missions.
