Following an open and transparent process and with the participation in the
Commission of two general secretaries, representatives of the CBK, civil society, the
University of Prishtina, supervised by BIRN and the Trade Union of the National Audit
Office, based on the constitutional and legal powers, the President of the Republic of
Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani today signed the decision by which Ms. Vlora Spanca is
proposed to the Assembly of Kosovo for the position of Auditor General of the Republic
of Kosovo.
Vlora Spanca is an economist and has 13 years of experience in the National Audit Office. During this time, she has been the Director of the Audit Department, Head of the Performance Audit Division, and since 2017, she has been the Assistant Auditor General.
In addition to the Interview Commission, the candidates were also evaluated by the British company BDO in the framework of the recruitment project supported by the British Embassy. Ms. Spanca has achieved high success, ranking as the most evaluated candidate in this process. She has been ranked as first in the rating of the British company BDO with 33 points, and second in the rating of the Evaluation Commission, with 30.4 points. The interview process was also monitored by media and civil society.
“The professional journey of Ms. Spanca, as well as her performance in this process, are proof of the ability and professionalism of our women. Our society and economy will be better only when the position of women and girls in our country is advanced. Therefore, I encourage women to continue to apply for senior management positions in order to be exactly in the place they deserve”, stressed President Osmani.
