The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu together with the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Mr. Glauk Konjufca, paid tribute and honoured the memory of those who fell on the 23rd anniversary of the Poklek and Çikatova e Vjetër Massacres.
Among the 54 killed in Poklek, 24 were children aged six months to 17 years. They were brutally killed and then burned by the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime, whose aim was extermination.
“It is the obligation of each of us to tell the truth of Poklek everywhere not only here in Kosovo, but in every country of the world so that the whole world hears about the suffering of the Albanian people but above all to see the clear evidence that the Milosevic regime had to exterminate the Albanian people from Kosovo. “The memory of them will be eternal and we will never stop seeking justice,” said President Osmani in Poklek.
President Osmani and Speaker of Parliament Konjufca also honoured the fallen in Çikatovë.
“After Poklek, we came here to Çikatovë, where together with the family members we are honouring the fallen for freedom.
As I said in Poklek, our freedom will be complete when there is justice for the fallen because unfortunately those who committed these crimes have not yet been brought to justice, so today we reiterate our call for Serbia to respond to international justice to stop hiding the criminals, to admit guilt and apologize,” said President Osmani!
