The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani will represent Kosovo at the Summit for Democracy, which will take place virtually on December 9-10 and will be attended by more than 100 countries from around the world.
The opening of the Summit will be made by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, while President Osmani in her speech at this Summit will present Kosovo’s main commitment points in the field of rule of law, international cooperation in combating autocracies, strengthening the role of women in society and establishing mechanisms to ensure the implementation of the commitments.
The Summit will be attended by world leaders, representatives from civil society and from the private sector, while it is planned to be discussed about: the strengthening of democratic stability, prevention and fight against corruption, protection of human rights, strengthening democracy and defense against authoritarianism, protection of democratic institutions, opposition to digital authoritarianism and affirmation of democratic values.
The invitation to attend the Summit for Democracy was sent to President Osmani by President Biden on 9 November. The President has included in her delegation, to virtually participate in the summit, representatives of other public institutions and representatives of civil society.
