The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani commemorated the massacres in Likoshan and Qirez, Drenicë.
Below is the full commemorative note by President Osmani:
On February 28th 1998, Milosevic’s genocidal regime committed indescribable atrocities, taking the lives of 24 innocent Albanians in Likoshan and Qirez of Drenica.
This tragic day is a testimony of the brutality exercised on our people by Serbia’s criminal regime in the very heart of the resistance, in Drenicë.
In the face of such horror, the determination to fight for liberation only strengthened. The KLA girls and boys sacrificed everything for the freedom of our country.
On this 26th anniversary, we honor the memory of those we lost. Their legacy lives on in our hearts, while their sacrifice motivates us to continue in search for justice.
May the memory of those killed in the massacres in Likoshan and Qirez be eternal!
