The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received the special envoy of the United States of America for the Western Balkans, Mr. Gabriel Escobar.
President Osmani expressed her gratitude for the clear message the United States of America conveyed yesterday, regarding the recent developments in the north of the country and the request for the immediate removal of barricades and the cessation of threats and intimidation of local citizens, as well as attacks on Kosovo Police, officials of the electoral commission and of the EULEX mission in Kosovo.
The latest developments in the country and in the region were discussed at the meeting. President Osmani emphasized the urgent need for the removal of the barricades in the north of the country, placed by illegal structures organized into criminal gangs and directed by Vucic.
She potentiated that the attacks on the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and international institutions are crimes for which the perpetrators of these attacks must urgently be brought to face justice.
At the meeting with emissary Escobar, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo continues to be a constructive party of the dialogue process and that Serbia's actions are an attempt to undermine the dialogue on mutual recognition.
Ways to further advance the relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the USA, and in particular, the request made by President Osmani in June 2022 for the commencement of the strategic dialogue between the two states, as well as the integration of Kosovo into the Euro-Atlantic structures were also discussed at the meeting.
