President Osmani met with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Markéta Pekarová Adamová

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, during her visit to the Czech Republic, met today with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Markéta Pekarová Adamová.

As in other meetings with high officials of the Czech state, meeting President Osmani also asked for support for the visa liberalization process and the advancement of the European agenda of the Republic of Kosovo in general. Madam President reiterated that Kosovo has met the criteria for visa liberalization for several years, and asked for Czech support for this process to be completed under the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The President requested the same support for the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the Council of Europe, the Partnership for Peace and then in NATO.

In particular, she discussed the important role of the Czech parliamentarians in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where we will need support for pushing forward Kosovo's membership process.

At the meeting with Mrs. Pekarová Adamová, President Osmani also touched on bilateral relations, discussing various areas in which relations can be further expanded and in this context mentioned Kosovo's long-lasting friendship with the Czech Republic, since the 80s and the support unwavering that the Czech Republic has given for the freedom and independence of Kosovo.
