President Osmani met with the KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met with the KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, today to discuss the security situation in the country.

She thanked KFOR for its continuous commitment as the third responder to ensure security throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. In particular, she expressed gratitude to KFOR for increasing the number of troops supporting Kosovo institutions in patrolling the border with Serbia, especially after the act of aggression by Serbia on 24 September.

During the meeting with Commander Ulutaş, President Osmani emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination between KFOR and its primary security partner, the Kosovo Police, as well as coordination with all security institutions in Kosovo, for the benefit of stability and security for all citizens of Kosovo, regardless of ethnicity.

Furthermore, the President was informed of the condition of the multi-ethnic force soldiers injured in the north of Kosovo in May. She highlighted that the Serbian criminal gangs that attacked NATO are unfortunately still at large, and the impunity for those who attacked KFOR in May is a negative message and encourages Serbia to attack again.

President Osmani expressed full confidence that Kosovo institutions, in cooperation with allied forces, will deter any possible attack by Serbia, thus maintaining peace and stability in the country and the region.
