President Osmani met with the Governor-General of Canada, Mary Simon

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met with the Governor-General of Canada Mary Simon, who is the head of the state of Canada. At the meeting with Governor Simon President Osmani thanked the Canadian state for its assistance to Kosovo, expressing readiness to further expand this cooperation.

President Osmani emphasized the role of women in decision-making, seeing this as an essential precondition for the consolidation of democracy and strengthening of the state. In this context, she stressed that Canada remains a good example, of whose experience on this Kosovo can benefit from.
The two interlocutors also discussed the possibilities of cooperation in areas of mutual interest,  foreign policy, defense, economic exchange, education, being mentioned among others. 
President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo has already taken significant steps in providing a suitable and safe environment for foreign investment, inviting Canadian businesses to explore the opportunities offered by Kosovo, dominated by a majority of the young population.
As for the current situation in Kosovo, President Osmani reiterated that the country's goal remains EU membership, as well as membership in other international organizations, on which she said that she expects Canadian support. President Osmani said that the dialogue process with Serbia should end with mutual recognition. She recently mentioned Serbia's threatening rhetoric and growing Russian influence in the region as a threat to destabilization in this part of Europe.
