President Osmani met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Kosovo and Greece intensify bilateral relations

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu was received today at a meeting by the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis within the Summit of the Heads of State of Southeast Europe (SEECP).

At the meeting with the host of the SEECP Summit Prime Minister Mitsotakis, President Osmani praised the continuous establishment of relations between Kosovo and Greece and the increased meetings between the leaders of our two countries. “Economy, trade and tourism are some of the most important areas in the focus of Kosovar-Greek cooperation, for which as heads of state we are working together to advance them, to bring our two peoples and our businesses closer, ” said President Osmani, mentioning Kosovo's readiness to further expand relations with Greece.

President Osmani and Prime Minister Mitsotakis also discussed Russia's illegal and unprovoked war in Ukraine, and the need for democracies to stand united in the face of the challenge of Euro-Atlantic values. President Osmani underlined the need for the attention of Euro-Atlantic partners to our region, especially to actions aimed at destabilizing stability and hard-won peace in our region.

In this spirit, President Osmani mentioned the cooperation in foreign policy as crucial for the future of our continent, emphasizing that support for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe and Euro-Atlantic integration should be seen through the prism of security, because only in this way can the advancement of democracy, human rights, security and peace in the region and beyond be guaranteed.
