The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, yesterday visited the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (STRATCOM) in Riga.
President Osmani wrote:
Kosovo is and will remain a reliable ally in defense of democratic values.
Yesterday, in Riga, I visited the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (STRATCOM) – a key institution in the fight against hybrid threats and in protecting the integrity of information. We discussed the deepening of cooperation in capacity building in cybersecurity and strategic communications, as part of Kosovo’s engagements towards NATO membership.
We continued with a discussion at the House of Europe with women leaders and activists in Latvia, to share with them the journey of Kosovo as a country that has experienced war, but which today moves forward with women at the centre of every democratic and security process.
We concluded the visit at the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia as a moment of deep reflection on the common history of resistance to occupation and injustice. Both Kosovo and Latvia survived through resistance and national pride. Collective memory is our strength – to not forget the glorious past and to build a just and secure future.
