The President of the Republic of Kosovo began today a new cycle of consultations regarding the constitution of the Assembly, in light of the Constitutional Court’s Adjudication in case No. KO 124/25.
The first meetings were held today with the acting Prime Minister, who is also the leader of Vetëvendosje, Mr. Albin Kurti, with the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Mr. Memli Krasniqi, with the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Mr. Lumir Abdixhiku and the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Mr. Ramush Haradinaj.
The leaders of these parties presented their positions regarding the process of constituting the Assembly, as well as their interpretations of the Constitutional Court’s Adjudication.
President Osmani has called on leaders to reach an agreement on the way forward for the constitution of the Assembly, in the spirit of cooperation and trust, and in the interest of citizens and the state, as soon as possible, but by all means within the 30-day deadline set by the Constitutional Court.
As she has emphasized in previous statements, President Osmani considers that the failure to constitute new institutions resulting from the will of citizens expressed on February 9th of this year, damages democratic values and the interests of our state, hinders many state benefits that are in the interest of citizens, and reduces citizen trust in institutions.
President Osmani will continue with consultative meetings with other parties represented in the Assembly over the coming days, in her role as guarantor of constitutional functioning and representative of the unity of the people in the Republic of Kosovo.
