On the eve of the visit to Harvard University in Boston where President Osmani is invited as the keynote speaker at the ‘Global Empowerment Meeting’ international conference, she held a series of meetings in the American Congress.
During the one-day stay in Washington D.C., President Osmani has met with Senator Chuck Schumer, Senator Christopher Murphy, Senator Ben Cardin, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Steve Daines, Congressman Steve Scalise, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, Congressman Gary Palmer, and will also be meeting with Congresswoman Dina Titus.
At all meetings, President Osmani spoke about the latest developments in Kosovo and the region with a special focus on developments in the field of security. She has constantly emphasized the importance of the integration of the Republic of Kosovo into the Euro-Atlantic institutions, stressing that this would directly contribute to greater security and stability in our region and beyond. She highly praised the extraordinary contribution the Congress provided to the strengthening of the international position of our country, stressing that a new momentum has already been reached for new developments in this direction.
In the spirit of excellent historic relations with the USA, President Osmani thanked the Kosovo friends in the American Congress, conveying the gratitude of the citizens of Kosovo for their support to our country over the years. In this regard, she emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership with Kosovo’s main ally through the Strategic Dialogue, an initiative presented by President Osmani at the beginning of last year.
The latest developments in the dialogue process with Serbia were also discussed at the meeting, with President Osmani reiterating the fact that Kosovo continues to be the constructive party and potentiated Serbia’s continuous violations in this process and expressed concern for the lack of readiness for implementation of the agreement on their part.
