The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani has commemorated the 24th anniversary of the massacre in Abria.
“24 years ago, 23 members of the Deliu family aged 2 to 94, were massacred by the Serbian genocidal government, as they were seeking salvation in the mountains, fleeing the barbarity of the forces of the Serbian regime,” said President Osmani.

24 years ago, 23 members of the Deliu family, aged 2 to 94, were massacred by the Serbian genocidal government, while they were seeking salvation in the mountains, fleeing the barbarism of the forces of the Serbian regime. They became targets of Serbian cruelty because they were Albanians and because they wanted to live freely in the land of their ancestors.
Today, we remember them with the same pain we felt that day and every day afterward. This pain becomes even greater as this massacre, evidence of the brutality of the Serbian forces, continues to remain unresponded by justice. The planners and executors are free, the state that sponsored them unconvinced of the scale of the crimes committed and the family is still awaiting justice.
We will continue our efforts to bring those who committed this cruel act to justice. We owe this to the victims and their families!
