The President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani presented today to the family of journalist Sulejman Gashi the Presidential Medal of Merit, which she awarded to Mr. Sulejman Gashi (post mortem).
At the ceremony organized today in the presence of family members and friends, President Osmani emphasized that the medal awarded to the now deceased journalist Sulejman Gashi is an expression of the gratitude of our state for the valuable contribution that Mr. Gashi, as a long-standing journalist and activist has carried out for decades in spread the truth about Kosovo everywhere.
President Osmani emphasized that Mr. Gashi has been a source of truth about Kosovo in the United States of America and an affirmer of its right to freedom.
“He was the voice of Kosovo. Today, we are institutionalizing the memory of him by bestowing upon him with the Presidential Medal of Merit for his long-term contribution to the reflection of the truth of Kosovo and about it in the international arena” pointed out President Osmani.
The relatives of Mr. Gashi, but also his colleagues present at the ceremony expressed their gratitude to President Osmani for the care she has shown for the personalities who have contributed to the freedom and independence of the country and thanked her for the award bestowed by her to Mr. Gashi.
