President Osmani at the meeting with the US Deputy Secretary of Defense, Mr. David A. Baker: Kosovo is a reliable partner and contributor to regional security and US strategic interests

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Mr. David A. Baker, with whom she discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of security and defense industry.

President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo is building a modern security force in compliance with NATO standards and that the partnership with the US is essential for peace and stability in the region.

In this context, President Osmani underlined that Kosovo’s membership in NATO is not only a strategic goal of our state, but a necessity for the security architecture in the region. She stressed that Kosovo is ready to contribute as a reliable ally and meet the defense spending target in record time, adding that the support of the United States in this membership goal is crucial.

She emphasized that the US military presence in Kosovo directly serves the strategic interests of the United States in the Western Balkans and that cooperation in the defense industry represents a new opportunity for joint investments, to the benefit of both countries.

The cooperation in the field of the military industry was also discussed. President Osmani presented the need for the expansion of cooperation in this area, emphasizing that Kosovo has potential in the field of military production with the support of the United States and various US companies that may be interested in this direction.

President Osmani pointed out that the strategic partnership with the United States of America is the main pillar of guaranteeing long-term stability in the Western Balkans.
